BOGOTA'S FAIR OF BOOK

Date: Between May 4 and May 16.

It´s being realized in Bogotá the international fair of the book, organized by the Camara Colombiana del Libro and Corferias.

Place: Corferias Carrera 37 No 24 - 67 Bogotá - Colombia.

Rate: Since 6.500 pesos

This successful union, is the responsible of this event since 1988, with support of the minister of exterior relations, minister of culture, minister of education and the major mayoralty of Bogota, across the secretaries of culture, recreation and sport, the foundation Gilberto Alzate Avendaño, and 22 more institutions, as CERLALC, the national direccion of copyright, fundalectura, foundation Rafael Pombo, colsubsidio, and others.

This event, which comes to it 24 anniversary was determinant in the designation of Bogota as “World capital of the book” in 2007, and is recognized today as one of the more important events in Latin-American.

 

This year the invited country is Ecuador, which has its own pavilion, but there are also several invited guest from different countries, authors from Spain, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Italy, Mexico and Uruguay.

In the frame of this event are presented more than 700 cultural acts, 515 exposers and 18.200 square meters area for exposition are the elements of the fair, made for people of all ages, all kids of taste. You can find there not only literature, but also research books, comic books, posters, toys, stickers, cartoons, crafts, etc. Also, there you can participate in forums, educative journals, autograph signatures, reading zones, illustration workshops, concerts, conferences and some play zones for the little ones.

This time Ecuador, has a pavilion very complete, with music, a man who tells you stories and invite you to move on, books of all topics, from poem to history, cultural information, cooking, specially of Latin-American writers; there are the most beautiful crafts, elaborated ceramics, hats, and jewelry made in gold, all exposed in a showcase and on sale. There were some activities for the kids, with clowns playing and making shows with circus toys.

In the open area there is a dais, where are often presented music or dancing groups of different kinds, national and international. So you can enjoy this while you are going from one zone to another. Besides the pavilion od Ecuador, there are also for other enterprises, as Panamericana, Ecopetrol, one for anrt and desing articles, where is included de comic and cartoon zone, nacional and international edition, other for the government states, such as the congress of the republic, the minister of education among others, the journalism section and the universities stands.

So, this is an event for all of us, you can have a nice time with your family, your friends, your girlfriend or boyfriend, but let me advice you something: be careful with your personal objects, you don´t want to go out with books, but without wallet.
